The Nantucket Police Department is currently accepting applications from suitable persons for the position of Community Service Officer for the 2022 Summer season.

CSO’s are not armed and perform a variety of duties and services in support of basic police operations and functions which do not require the legal powers of a sworn police officer.

Position begins 6 June 2022.

Duties Include

1. Traffic / crowd control
2. Enforcement
1. Writing parking violations
2. Enforcing proper beach and parking permits
3. Town By-Law violations
3. Patrol: on foot, bicycle, or ATV
4. Beach Patrol on ATV
1. Enforcing beach regulations
2. Assist with minor medical calls with life guards
5. Assist with community activities and events
6. Other duties as requested
7. Possible opportunity to work third party traffic details

Starting wage: $19.00/ hour
Housing available for $95.00/ week
